John Kerr joined the family business Kerrwil in 1984 and was responsible for the founding of several leading trade publications including Manufacturing Automation, Lighting, Structured Cabling Canada and Structured Cabling Europe, CAD/CAM & Robotics and Energy Management. He developed the company’s research group. The acquisition of Canadian Yachting and several other titles followed, and was involved in the divestiture of the companies B2B print titles before reengineering its B2B and B2C groups with online and web-based media assets. As President of Kerrwil, he leads a team of 30 and oversees a group of domestic and international special interest magazines and online platforms and has helped transform Kerrwil from print to digital. John was the Chairman of the Canadian Business Media Association just recently stepped after 10-year role with the Canadian Olympic Committee.
