George Abraham has come to define "immigrant journalism" in Canada. He is Founder and Publisher of New Canadian Media, a five-year-old infant media non-profit that seeks to portray "the pulse of immigrant Canada." He holds a Master's of Journalism from Carleton University and was a recipient of the prestigious Nieman Fellowship at Harvard University. He began his career at The Times of India in Bombay (now Mumbai) as a trainee journalist in 1985.
